Photo-Shoot Studio

I did a photo-shoot in the studio, before i went into college i looked on the Internet for different posses just to get some ideas for my models to pose, and i asked my models to bring 3 different outfits with them so thay could change there clothers, when we got to college i found out i had to use the colleges camera, as the adapter i got for my camera to connect to the studio lighting was the wrong one, Steve set up the studio, putting the camera on the tripod, and sorted out the lighting, my mistake was i didn't take notes for the camera and lighting settings, to get my models 2 relax i put on some music and was acting out some posses with them, when thay became at ease i started the photo-shoot with the 1st model until i felt like she was getting board, then i asked her 2 get changed and take little break why i worked with the 2nd model, and again i started by acting out some posses with her until she became confident, then started to shoot her, and i soon ran out of ideas on different posses, i do think i should of looked up more posing ideas before i started this shoot, to me this was another lesson learnt and also think these small problems will all come with experience and time, but i knew i had to keep the shoot going as i didn't want my lack of experience rub off on my models and the shoot, so i sent her off to have a break and get changed, the 1st model came back to do the next shoot and i asked her if theres any posses she wanted to do, she said she wanted some doing of her and her boyfriend, so why the both of them was playing around i was shooting them,

4th November 2010 (my first real studio photo-shoot)

21st October 2010

Tonight at college i went into the studio to do some shots, And i loved it as I've never done any work in a studio before, i started taking some shots of objects on a table like glasses and flowers, i had so much fun doing this but wasn't what i really wanted to do, so 2 others and myself decided we would just shoot each other, that's when i really did start 2 enjoy myself asking them 2 pose different ways and one of the Lady's i was shooting didn't even like having her photo taken when we first started, my first aim was 2 get her 2 relax and just have fun, we put some good music on and started to get into it. i started 2 pose and act silly (that's not hard for me to do ) and i started saying things to her like its only a camera and who cares what people might say about my photo-shoot and if theres any i don't like i can just delete them, so after i finished posing i wanted 2 get my hands on the camera again and start shooting her, so soon become relaxed and started to enjoy herself, there was 2 ways in which i noticed she was getting more relaxed, 1-in her face, smiling and laughing, 2- shes was just posing herself anyway she wanted 2 even with some props (flower and 2 paper cups) i just cant wait 2 get some of that shoot up on here, i will get the photos off my tutor and put them up next week, but theres 1 thing i cant remember and that's what the flash and the lights are called i was using...i will just have 2 ask again...

14th Oct 2010 Dennis Morris

Last night i had the opportunity of meeting Dennis Morris, And before he started to talk about his journey with us, i asked if i could take his photo, and i was so disappointed that i couldn't remember how to change my shutter speed and my ISO, needn't to say i was very angry with myself is a understatement, i really need to get to grips with this as i never want this to happen again, but Dennis was so amazing,

12th oct 2010 Dennis Morris

Dennis Morris was born in Jamaica and came to live in the U.K in Hackney London at a very young age of 4, Everything was strange and new to him, He never seen a T.V before, Let alone trying to cope with new food and the British weather,
He soon started Colvestone Crescent primary school, He had a strange experience, with him having a Jamaican back ground most of the other kids would be rude to him, so he was put at the back of the class room and left to pleased his self if he joined in or not, But at the age of 11 plus he passed his school exams, Not long after this he went to Upton House Secondary school in Homerton Hackney,
He was happy in his early teens, It was later that the frustration began, He has some friends from school and also the choir he was in, And that's where he met Donald Paterson, Donald was running his own photographers club, That's where Dennis seen the very first photo being printed, Donald saw how enthusiastic he was, and started buying him books and magazines all about photography to read, Photography helped Dennis in his own life, It gave him confidants, hope, He started believing in himself more, At aged just 11, his photo of a PLO Rally in London was published on the front of the Daily Mirror, He was payed just £16, But the biggest break came when he met Bob Marley at a sound check, Bob soon made up a great friendship with Dennis, And invited him to be his official photographer just at the age of 14,
Dennis was soon on tour with Bob and the group, But then why on tour in the U.K it snowed, Bob didn't like the cold weather and cancelled the rest of the tour and headed back to Jamaica,
Thay both meet up again two years later, And that's when Dennis's professional career took off with the death of Bob in 1981, photos of bob that Dennis had taken ended up all over the world in news papers, Dennis was just 17 years old, and his photojoumalistio style caught the eyes of other popular artists like, the sex pistols, Marianna Faithful, Grace Jones, Oasis, and many many more,
Dennis was also in a band himself called Basement 5, He recorded 2 albums with Island records,
Dennis has also traveled the world doing assignment's in photography as far as Tibet,
So what really inspired me with Dennis is that he started from nothing, hes very passionate about photography, and he believes in himself, and hes living proof that if you are really focused and believe in your self you can make it as a photographer if you put your heart and soul into it,
Just like Dennis i will do anything to become a real good photographer !!!

And that's why I'm really looking forward to meeting him tomorrow night (13th Oct 2010)
